In Australia there are very strong rules related to advertising certain health services and treatments. These rules are set by the Therapeutic Goods Association (TGA). There are large fines for companies that break the rules.
There are a many online clinics that are offering free or very cheap consultations. These are clinics that their business model is based around the patient being forced to fill their prescription at their affiliated pharmacy. The cost of the consultation will be included in the higher price of the medication.
Also, many of these online clinics are owned by the drug manufacturer or supplier and the doctors are required to prescribe only their products. This reduces patient choice and generally puts profits ahead of patients.
